Utada Hikaru holds back tears at her final concert before hiatus

[postlink]https://breakinghotnewsonline.blogspot.com/2010/12/utada-hikaru-holds-back-tears-at-her_10.html[/postlink] Before embarking on her hiatus, Utada Hikaru held her last concerts (called “WILD LIFE“) on December 8th and 9th at the Yokohama Arena, pulling in a total of 28,000 fans. During her final concert on the 9th, she told the audience, “Today is my 12th anniversary since my debut. It was a strange 12 years, which I felt were both long and short, but I couldn’t even imagine 12 years ago that I would be able to hold a live concert with this many people. I am such a lucky person.”

Stating earlier that she would do everything she wanted to do until she burnt herself out, Utada performed 22 songs on a round stage, allowing her to be surrounded by fans from a full 360°. She played the piano during the performances for “SAKURA Drops“, “Stay Gold“, and “First Love“, and also played the guitar for her cover of The Beatles‘ “Across The Universe.”

Fans screamed to her, “Thank you Hikki” and “We will be waiting for you!“, to which Utada answered, “Will you still call me ‘Hikki’ even when I become an old lady? Well, I will look forward for it – let’s meet again at a live when I become an old lady.”

Holding back tears, she also told fans, “It’s not that I’m retiring, but when I think about not being able to hold any more lives for a while…“. Choked by overwhelming emotions, Utada was unable to finish her sentence.

For the very last song in her encore, she appropriately chose “Time will tell“, the followup song from her debut single “Automatic“, which was released on the same day 12 years ago. After the final notes trailed away, she kept telling her fans, “Thank you, thank you.”

At the very end, she carefully placed the microphone on the stage, gave a deep bow to the audience, and left with tearful eyes.

We hope that Hikki enjoyed herself fully during this emotive and touching final show – tokyohive definitely looks forward to updating with news of her comeback!

Tamaki Nami + Choshinsei releases preview of “TTL/Time To Love”

[postlink]https://breakinghotnewsonline.blogspot.com/2010/12/tamaki-nami-choshinsei-releases-preview_10.html[/postlink]
Singer Tamaki Nami will be releasing her new single “Missing You~Time To Love~” on January 12th. The song will be a cover of K-pop’s ”TTL/Time To Love“, which was a collaboration piece between Choshinsei (Supernova) and T-ara.

According to Sanspo, Tamaki is a fan of K-pop, and so decided to cover a Korean song for her next release. Her choice fell upon “TTL”, which was a big hit in Korea last year, and is also a personal favorite of hers (so much so that she uses the song as her ringtone!).

Since both Tamaki and Choshinsei belong to the same label, she approached the boys to work with her for a collaboration. Members Kwangsu, Jihyuk, and Geonil have agreed to participate in her cover, and will also rap in Japanese.

Check out the preview below!

Aya Hirano on this week’s “Weekly Playboy”

Written By 092505589 on Thursday, December 9, 2010 | 1:48 AM

[postlink]https://breakinghotnewsonline.blogspot.com/2010/12/aya-hirano-on-this-weeks-weekly-playboy_09.html[/postlink] Voice actress, singer, variety show regular, and part-time gravure idol, Hirano Aya has definitely got her hands full with her multi-faceted career. The talent graced this week’s cover and main photospread for the idol gravure magazine “Weekly Playboy” (edition no.51).

Hirano is rising up to meet new challenges (like this lovely pictorial or her upcoming musical), and refuses to let anything hold her back, despite the controversies from a few months back or her chronic illness.

She’s looking quite spunky and charming as ever in the photos below, so be sure to check them out!

People flock to Horikita Maki’s rendition of “Jeanne d’Arc”

Written By 092505589 on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 | 11:40 PM

[postlink]https://breakinghotnewsonline.blogspot.com/2010/12/people-flock-to-horikita-makis_08.html[/postlink] Actress Horikita Maki (22) just celebrated the first performance of her debut stage play “Jeanne d’Arc” one week ago and today she already had another reason to be in high spirits.

The play is a huge success with more than 100,000 people that have already come to watch Horikita’s rendition of the national heroine of France at the “Akasaka ACT Theater” in Tokyo. Everyone in the team, including co-star Ito Hideaki (35), participated in a special event wearing their original costumes to celebrate its success and thank their supporters.

Horikita about her feelings: “We have broken through the 100,000 and it’s a great honor to be able to celebrate such a number during my debut stage play. I will continue to try my best for every performance and hope that all the fun we have as a team will be conveyed to the audience.”

Reporters also tried to get a comment out of Ito about the recent incident involving his good friend Ichikawa Ebizo, but he decided to stay silent on this matter.

Performances for “Jeanne d’Arc” will continue until December 15th.

AKB48 celebrates their 5th anniversary at the AKB48 Theater!

[postlink]https://breakinghotnewsonline.blogspot.com/2010/12/akb48-celebrates-their-5th-anniversary_08.html[/postlink] On December 8th, AKB48 held a special stage at the AKB48 Theater to celebrate their 5th year anniversary! A total of 82 girls showed up for the event, which if we broke down, included all of the AKB48 members, 16 research members, 5 SDN48 members, and 13 graduated members. Did we forget to mention the partridge in the pear tree?

For the opening act, 16 former members of ‘team A’ appeared on stage dressed in the very same costumes they wore 5 years ago, and subsequently performed their very first song, “PARTY ga Hajimaruyo“. Back when they started, there were only 7 people in audience; but 5 years later, they sang to a full house! These girls performed a total of 11 songs including “Chance no Junban“, which was released on the same day as the concert.

8 research students were promoted as members during the concert. Although it hasn’t been revealed as to which team they’ve been designated to, the lucky qualifying students are: Ohba Mina, Shimazaki Haruka, Shimada Haruka, Takeuchi Miyu, Nagao Mariya, Nakamura Mariko, Mori Anna, and Yamauchi Suzuran. With this promotion, AKB48 now consists of 56 members!

Will they be called “AKB56″…? Hm, not quite sure how it fits but we’re going to bet that these girls are going to still going to reign the J-pop scene no matter how many members they add on.

AKB48 celebrates their 5th anniversary at the AKB48 Theater!

[postlink]https://breakinghotnewsonline.blogspot.com/2010/12/akb48-celebrates-their-5th-anniversary.html[/postlink] On December 8th, AKB48 held a special stage at the AKB48 Theater to celebrate their 5th year anniversary!
