Deputy General Manager of the independent television Network (ITN) and the producer of the programme ‘THULAWA’,has been issued an open warrant by the Colombo’s Fort Magistrate Miss Lanka Jayaratna. The reason for issuing the open warrant is that he had been found guilty of pretending to be the Chief Store Keeper at the Sri Lanka Telecom Stores and had issued letters with forged signatures to issue 1828 tons of scrap iron to two businessmen by obtaining Rs 15 lakhs as an advance convincing the confidence of the two businessmen.
As this letter had been issued to purchase old scrap iron, on suspicion the officers at the Telecom stores have handed them over to the police for questioning. The action of forging the letter by Sudarman was proved by the police officers when the two businessmen were interrogated.
