A school girl riding as the pillion in a bush bicycle ridden by her brother has died when a private bus had collided with the bicycle and run over her:
This morning a tragic news has been reported from the Miriswatta area in Bentota when a 8 year old school girl riding on a bicycle as the pillion ridden by her elder brother had died on the spot , when a speeding private bus transporting Garment factory workers had knocked them down. The brother of the deceased had been thrown away after the collision while the school girl sister had been crushed to death.
The people in the Miriswatte area through sheer anger had burnt the bus. They also had attacked another bus also carrying Garment factory workers. This bus the police had taken the bus into their custody.
The burnt bus and the dead girl’s brother who rode the bicycle are shown in the photographs below:
