From the 1st of July the Government had confirmed the manner the bus fare hike should be implemented. But the Chairman of private Bus Owners Association Gemunu Wijeratna expects a bus hike to be 15.5%, double that of the amount the Government sources had agreed upon. If there is no agreement to this demand the private bus owners would commence an island wide bus strike from the 27th instant.
